The development process of my rocky island in the sea. It features a green striped lighthouse, a small village and a reflective sea. This was made on Blender, using version 4.3.
The first step of my low poly island. I created a base using an isometric shape and edited it using the 'Draw' brush in the Sculpting tab (with Dynotype enabled). I then added a Decimate modifier, to lower the objects face count.
Next, I created a lighthouse model using mostly cylinder shapes and loop cuts. I then then added it to the island.
I also created multiple generic houses, using rectangle shapes and loop cuts. I placed one on the edge of the island, outside of the village cluster.
Once I was happy with the objects I had applied to the scene, I added materials. First I added colour to the rock and sea. I applied a reflective quality to the sea, and a roughness quality to the rock.
I continued adding materials to my objects, including the houses, and took advantage of the 'Linked Duplicate' property to increase efficiency.
In the final render, all of my objects have materials. This includes the background and lighthouse. I applied a 'Fog Glow' in the Compositor to my lighthouse. Plus, finished by adding appropriate lighting (Sun and Point lights).
